Innovation and Inspiration: the Osonó Theatre in Youth Education

While the majority of the troupe was on a tour in England, life in Budapest did not stand still: we also held an interactive "presentation" at the Sapientia University of Theology as part of the ongoing professional development for youth educators.

Within the framework of a "training demo," Bernát Benyhe introduced participants to the techniques used in Osonó's teacher training sessions. The presentation also emphasized the methodology developed during our autumn Erasmus projects in partnership with the Svung Creative Association.

It was inspiring to be part of the conference titled "New Paths for Teachers in the Age of Information Explosion," organized by the Hungarian Province of the Piarist Order, alongside such esteemed speakers as Professor Tamás Freund, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and Viktor Jilly, a pioneering master educator who became renowned for his groundbreaking television lessons in foreign language teaching in Hungary.

"This performance made me think. It touched me deeply. It was as liberating as therapy!"

On Saturday, at the Hungarian House of London, we presented our performance titled "I Am Not, Only Others See", based on the texts of József Attila, twice. It was great to meet, converse, and present our performance to the local community in connection with the Day of Theatre and Hungarian Poetry. During the audience meeting, there was much discussion about homelessness, searching for meaning, traumas, loneliness, solitude, exclusion, migration, and the relevance of emotions present in the texts of József Attila. We are grateful for the attentive audience, for the personal and profound thoughts shared during the post-performance discussion. We thank Attila Korpos for the organization and the warm hospitality!

Moments of Wonder: Exploring depths through József Attila's words

"I felt this performance to be endlessly authentic. The way the actor brings these texts to life, the way they convey emotions, the moments that unfold, not to mention the depth... It's wonderful. Equally remarkable is that all of this was achieved with just a suitcase."

On Wednesday afternoon, on the occasion of Hungarian Poetry Day, we presented our performance titled "I Am Not, Only Others See", based on the texts of József Attila, at H13 Kultpont. From the very first moment, the audience's attention and resonance with the performance were palpable. During the audience interaction, there were many discussions about ourselves, traumas, loneliness, and childhood, inspired by the poet's texts. We are grateful for the attentive reception and the personal thoughts shared during the post-performance discussion. Thank you for celebrating with us!

The event was made possible with the support of H13 Kultpont.

Straight from the Heart: József Attila's Texts at B29

"We really liked that in this performance, there was no recitation, but the poems were delivered in a conversational manner. This way, these texts reached us much better."

On Wednesday morning at the B29 Youth Community Space, we presented our performance titled "I Am Not, Only Others See", based on the texts of József Attila, to the eleventh-grade students of Bethlen Gábor Primary School and High School. The unconventional literature class, supported by the Municipality of Újbuda, Budapest District XI, provided a suitable opportunity for young people to immerse themselves in the texts written by the poet and to share personal thoughts sparked by what they heard during the discussion following the performance. We appreciate the attention and the willingness of the class to get closer to the persona and poetry of József Attila!
